From Classroom to Construction Site – Geelong Secondary Schools Construction Site Tour

Secondary School students from Geelong were invited to participate in a construction site tour on 13 September.

The Geelong site tour, sponsored by Master Builders Victoria, Austral Bricks ABBTF (Become a Bricklayer), The Gordon TAFE.

Hamlans Construction, Lyons Construction and Caruso Bricklaying made the tour possible.

In Newtown, Geelong,  students were given the second part of their tour. This time, however, students visited Hamlans’ townhouse development where they learnt about constructions role in domestic builds and the how important bricklaying is in completing the finished product.

Students saw the difference in the making between the start and finish products and gained excellent advice.

Finishing up the day, students were treated to a sausage sizzle at Gordon, where they were presented with some ABBTF hats. They also managed to get a ripper picture! (below)
